2008 Jaguar X-Type Review, Pictures & Video

Jaguar’s entry-level vehicle has received some revamps for the 2008 year. This is the last model that the United States will see of the relatively young automobile. You had better act now if you want a taste of Jaguar for a portion of the price.
This five-door sedan features a low tail and an inclining grille meshed into a sporty appearance. The quad halogen lights, fog lights and 16-inch alloy wheels are some of the changes you will see on the X-Type exterior. The X-Type Sportwagon model has the same features except it uses 17-inch alloy wheels. Other differences on the wagon model include altered back doors, a distinctive roof and a rear window that opens independently from the gate of the tailgate.
Five people can fit inside the cabin. The Connolly leather upholstery, real wood trim and Jaguar-style instrument panel help sustain this automobiles luxury status. The standard 10-way powered seats, automatic climate control, trip computer and audio system don’t hurt either. Optional features include a navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, reverse parking assist, heated seats and more. The Sportwagon comes with almost identical equipment; however, there is a 70/30 split-folding rear seat and a range of cargo storage spaces.
The 2008 X-Type sedan and Sportwagon both run on a 3.0-liter V6 that can produce 227 horsepower and 206 lb.-ft. of torque. The five speed automatic transmission is standard on both vehicles and uses the J-gate shift that is popular on other Jaguar models. This combined with All-wheel drive make the X-Type soar in terms of performance.
The safety wasn’t ignored either in this years model. The airbag setup includes advanced frontal airbags, a front-knee airbag, front-side airbags and side-curtain airbags for all passengers. Other features included in the mix include an electronic stability system and antilock brakes. All of this is standard.
The 2008 X-Type is an exceptional and affordable entry-level vehicle for the luxury Jaguar automobile enthusiast.
