Jaguar, the luxury car manufacturer, is replacing the S-Type model with the all-new XF mid-size luxury car and sports sedan. This blend of style gives the XF a unique experience without sacrificing anything that a Jaguar fan would expect. The lucky buyer of the 2008 XF can have their vehicle come in Luxury, Premium Luxury or Supercharged trim levels.

The first thing one will notice about the XF is its outer design. It gives auto buyers a taste of the new route that Jaguar is taking their vehicle designs. The sporty design is exaggerated with sleek lines that give this four-door sedan the look and feel of a coupe. Behind this pseudo-sports car sit LED taillights that complement the headlights. All of this, combined with the assortment of other design cues and features, rest on alloy wheels that vary from 17 to 20 inches in size.

The inside is just as compelling as the outside. Along with its lavish style, the 2008 XF interior has standard and optional features such as backup assist camera, adaptive cruise control, a choice of three quality sound systems, compatibility with the latest technologies and a blind spot monitor. The touch LCD screen on the center console not only controls various functions in the car, but it can display the optional Navigation system. The inside is full of subtle details that give this car its modern flare. The Phosphor Blue Halo Illumination sets this mood in the vehicle and with JaguarSense™, all you need to do it wave your hand to turn on the reading light or open the glove compartment.

Hidden amongst all of the interior glory is a host of quality ensured safety technology. The multitude of airbags include dual-stage frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front curtain airbags and of course rear side-impact protection. These airbags don’t work alone; they work with other features such as an electronic stability system, antilock brakes, traction control, active head restraints and a continuing list of brilliance. The quality of the XF also shines on its drivetrain. The standard engine is a 4.2-liter V8 that works in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission. With Jaguar Sequential Shift™, the driver can select either a Drive or Sport transmission mode. The controls for this are on the steering wheel or a gearshift knob on the center console; this knob pops out of the console when the engine is started. This further proves that everything on this vehicle is state of the art.
