Jaguar SUV Rumors
There are rumors that Jaguar will produce a SUV. But as they are tied into Land Rover (same parent company) is there really a need for yet another luxury SUV or crossover in the market?
According to World Car Fans: “Set to be launched in 2015, the crossover will reportedly feature an aluminum body that weighs 200-300 kg (441-661 lbs) less than a conventional steel body. Furthermore, previous reports have indicated the model will ride on an aluminum chassis, so it’s easy to see how the Jag could become one of the lightest crossovers on the market.”
“Under the hood, power will be provided by a variety of fuel-efficient engines. Diesel options will likely include a 187 hp 2.2-liter four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter V6 with 237 hp and 271 hp. On the petrol side, we can expect a new 3.7-liter V6 or a 237 hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the Range Rover Evoque.”
