Jaguar Utilizes Mobile Internet

Jaguar is one of the first automakers to tap into the powerful marketing opportunities presented by mobile internet marketing. The company launched its first major mobile campaign in October of 2007 during the Los Angeles auto show. The luxury automaker purchased all of Yahoo’s mobile ad inventory during a select period of time in order to generate anticipation for the new Jaguar XF. During the ad campaign Jaguar successfully generated 2447 actions which the company considers leads. They managed to collect 1478 e-mail addresses and 969 consumers used handsets to locate a dealership. Both companies also measured other significant user actions including the number of videos watched, Wallpapers downloaded and dealers located. Spending on mobile advertising will continue to grow as more companies realize the potential of location based advertising and the rise in the number of consumers with Internet capable handsets.
