The Jaguar XF outperforms the BMW 5 series and costs an average of $30,000 less. This is a wonderful car to drive, and a beautiful design. Owners love it - not much to improve...

[...] The Jaguar XF has seen world wide recognition since its September unveiling, picking up 12 prestigious international awards. Jaguar’s Chairman of Judges George Emerson commented: “The Jaguar C-XF won the Editor’s Award in last year’s Fleet World Honours largely on the strength of its appearance – a quite stunning car to look at. With XF, when you get inside the cabin and feel the quality, then drive it on the open road you realise that the company has delivered on its promise. It is an exceptional car that turns heads like no other in its class.” The Jaguar XF was also a recipient of the “Car of the Year” award presented by What Diesel Magazine as well as Top Gear’s “Limo of the Year” award.
I agree with the other comment. Jaguar has produced some of the most beautiful designs ever to make it into production. I don't think Jaguar should ever again produce a vehicle of any type that could not be called "beautiful", but over the last 30 years they have done this much too often. To my eyes, they have been let down by inappropriate wheel design, if nothing else. In recent years the headlight treatment has been inept. To me, headlight, grills, fender flares and wheels have traditionally been key elements in the Jaguar visual appeal.
Once again, in this XF, the wheel design is marginal and lets the whole package down. The spoke elements are too heavy and the shape is neither beautiful nor, apparently, practical.
In the spirit of "gentleman's sports car, implying that the aim is not to go for that last 10% of performance at the expense of comfort and elegance, the design aim with the wheels should be centered around simplicity, elegance and (actual and apparent) lightness, in the interest of improved unsprung weight ratio to improve both ride and grip over rough surfaces.
Perhaps wiser heads with the bigger picture firmly in mind will prevail under the Tata ownership.

Best of luck, Jaguar.
